Alan Summers is the lead facilitator at Call of the Page, and is an internationally published and award-winning poet, specialising in the Japanese forms in English.
Alan has a Master's degree in Creative Writing from Bath Spa University. He is the recipient of many accolades including the Japan Times Award for Renga, and has been Pushcart Prize-nominated. He is a former President of the international organisation the United Haiku and Tanka Society, and has presented at multiple international conferences, including the Japan Writers Conference.
Over the past fourteen years, Alan's warm and enabling style has encouraged participants in public arts events, private courses, and bespoke groups.

Alan's team-members at Call of the Page are Alison Clayton-Smith and Karen Hoy. Alison has an extensive background in HR and training, in professional services and the public sector. Karen is a content-creator for Call of the Page events and courses, with a background of content development for broadcast documentary films.
